About
Made by makers, for makers
Nepal's handicraft sector has employed generations of skilled hands — pashmina alone was 82% of handicraft exports in the early 2000s. We built the machine to keep that momentum moving online.
Our story
From scattered groups to one machine
Nepali makers sold through scattered Facebook groups and handicraft stores, while global makers lived on Reddit, Ravelry, and Instructables. Crafting Machines gives every maker one home — feed, community, tutorials, and shop together.

What we believe
The maker's code
Hands first
Process photos, honest mistakes, and real materials — the feed values the making, not just the reveal.
Generosity
Projects are gifts to the community. Credit is automatic, remixing is encouraged, and stealing is banned.
Kindness by design
Rules written up front, mods backed by a global team, and a code of conduct every member signs.
Roots & reach
Proud of Nepal's craft heritage and open to the world's makers — the machine runs both ways.
Founder note
Why we built the machine
My grandmother wove dhaka cloth for forty years and never had a way to show the world her process. We built this so her craft — and every craft like it — gets the audience it always deserved. [CLIENT-COPY: confirm with client]
The machine is only as good as its makers.
